 Kids In Sports FAQ’s

Will the children be doing the same sports in the morning and afternoon for a week?

The sports will vary daily and between the morning and the afternoon session.  A child who signs up for both the morning and afternoon sessions will enjoy a different sports activity in the morning than in the afternoon.

If a child signs up for 3 weeks will they be doing the same sports activities? How will it vary?

No two days will have the same sports activities.  Some of the concepts will carry over but the actual activities will be different.  In addition to team sports, we will also have activities that emphasize movement but are not sport specific.

Are there other activities besides sports?

We have scheduled times for arts and crafts, cooking, stories, and various other creative activities each day.  There will also be periods for resting, snack and free play.

Does KIS have a schedule of a typical day?

The schedule for the typical day is posted online on the home page.  It can be accessed by clicking the link labeled “Camp Schedule.”

What kind of sports and will they be done inside or outside?

Weather permitting, we will be outside as much as possible for all the sports activities.  With summer, the heat is always a concern and so we will monitor that day to day.

What staff will be working with my children?

The goal is to have the staff be composed of Kids In Sports coaches who run classes at your school currently assisted by members of academic teaching staff currently working at your child’s school.

Are you accepting children outside the School?

First priority is given to children currently enrolled in the school.  If there are spaces available, we will accept children not currently enrolled.

If a child has adjustment problems at camp, how will the KIS staff manage it?

The Kids in Sports staff handles adjustment issues by keeping the children engaged.  If a child needs time to adjust, he or she will be allowed to take their time.  A member of the Kids in Sports staff will ensure that these children are cared for as needed.

Do all children need to be bathroom independent?

Yes.  All children enrolled must be bathroom independent.  That being said, accidents do occasionally happen.  Please send your child with a change of clothes.

Will the children be grouped by age or will they be in mixed age groups?

In general, the children will participate in mixed age groups.  However, for specific activities, we will group the children by age.
